Corrosion of Conformity Indianapolis Concert reviews
Epic Evening with the Mighty Amon Amarth
As always amazing, this was our fifth time witnessing Corrosion of Conformity! From the opener Twilight of the Thunder God until the last notes of Guardians of Asgard, they delivered a powerful mix of chugging, melodious metal, with fantastic riffs and solos from the masterful duo Johan S枚derberg and Olavi Mikkonen, centered around the deep-throated growls of front man Johan Hegg, as always. Marvelous Jocke Wallgren on drums and maestro Ted Lundstr枚m on bass completed the soundscape with their energetic and heavy contributions. The Swedes, being the ultimate showmen that they are, treated us to a feast for the eyes and ears, with appearances from Viking warriors Loke and Jormungandr fighting on stage, and Hegg downing a very large amount of beer from a gigantic drinking horn. The audience reciprocated by displaying a very spirited rowing during Put Your Back Into the Oar, as well as shouting, singing, jumping, throwing the horns, and generally rocking out to one of the best live bands in metal. Thank you, Corrosion of Conformity! Back we will be with shields and sharpened axes to raid with you next time you steer your ships toward these shores! \m/
